A whole host of staff at TKC are being presented with long service awards this year. Darryl Collins, TKC’s Goods Return Coordinator, is celebrating 25 years of service, with a further eight employees celebrating 10 years of working for the company.
Darryl, who was TKC’s first employee during the year it was founded in 1989, worked on the company’s Trade Counter for many years until his recent transition to the Goods Return Department. His knowledge of TKC’s vast product range is second to none and he is well respected and liked by both his peers and customers alike.
As Chris Hazelhurst, TKC’s Commercial Director, comments, “Darryl proved to be a great teacher for me during my early days at TKC. He is extremely thorough with strong technical knowledge and he taught me that if you understand a product well, customers will respect your knowledge and come to rely on you. Darryl and TKC have stuck together through thick and thin and he should feel extremely proud of his achievements here.”
Darryl is to be awarded a ‘surprise gift’ from TKC in recognition of his long service achievement. The eight other employees, who work across the company’s admin, warehouse and transport departments, will each receive a watch on the day of their anniversary in a special presentation attended by the whole TKC workforce.
TKC’s Managing Director, Tom Kelly, comments, “We like to think of all our TKC staff as one big family and we are delighted that so many of them clearly love working here and choose to stay with us. The management team at TKC fully understands that the company is only as good as its employees. We operate an open door policy and recognise that it’s important to invest in the people who work for us. I would like to personally thank all of our long serving staff, and Darryl in particular, for their contribution to TKC’s ongoing success.”
